Lego Movie 4D A New Adventure Premiere

Last night was the big world premiere of The Lego Movie 4D A New Adventure at Legoland Florida. Melia and I attended the event together following a fun, soggy day in the park. In spite of the rain, everything was awesome!

The party was being called a Hollywood style movie premiere built for kids. There was a red carpet entrance, gold Emmet statues, fancy drinks, and snacks. We got all dressed up. You’ll have to take our word for it. There are no photos to prove it. The event started just after dark. We had a long walk in while it was raining.

We arrived inside the theater just as they had announced all of the VIP guests. In attendance were a handful of young stars from hit TV shows on ABC, Nickelodeon and Disney channel. Then of course the reunited stars of the film: Emmet, Wyldstyle, Unikitty, Benny, and Metalbeard. Even the newest villian, Risky Business.

Risky Business is our newest villain.

In the film, Risky Business lures our unsuspecting heroes to his new theme park. Brick World was built to include a special ride for each hero based on their adventures from The Lego Movie. Poor Emmet’s ride was a mock up of his living room. Guests would get to eat breakfast with his plant. No thrills. Haha!

When they arrive at Brick World, Risky Business unleashes his evil plot to use mind control. During the event we had light up bracelets that would go red when our minds were being controlled. Melia was quite concerned.

Will our heroes be able to evade the Super Secret Police? I guess you’ll have to visit Legoland to find out.

This attraction is 4D, which means it includes 3D graphics on the screen as well as unexpected elements in person to make you feel like you are inside the action. We felt the wind through our hair, got rained on (again), and even had real laser lights shooting at us.

Melia has never been a fan of 4D features. They typically involve her covering her ears, taking off her glasses, and hiding her face. Last night was different! While there was a moment of ears being plugged, she kept the glasses on and munched on popcorn through the entire 12 1/2 minute film. Even said she enjoyed it!

We had a great day at Legoland. The attraction will be a great addition to their lineup.

Can’t wait for 2018 when we will have a Lego Movie sequel!
