Being Thankful – Happy Thanksgiving

The night before Thanksgiving. It’s 9 PM and this is the first time I’ve actually sat down today. My house is filled with the smells of Thanksgiving…well the smell of desserts. We could stop right now and I’d be perfectly happy come tomorrow! Ok, I’d miss the rolls. We can stop after the rolls.

The kids aren’t all in bed yet. It’s over an hour past their bedtime. However, I thought I’d take a few moments and reflect on why I’m thankful.

My Little Family

  • My Husband – I always tell him I keep him around for things like putting air in my tires, taking out the trash, and warming up my feet at night. In reality, he is the foundation of how everything works around here. He’s an amazing father that loves to play and make our kids laugh. He’s the disciplinarian when things start to get out of control. He is the voice of reason and logic, which I hate! I’m very thankful that I have such a great partner in life.
  • My Kids – The reason for everything. My joy, frustration, lack of sleep, endless giggles, and inspiration. I love seeing the world through their eyes. Guiding them to find their own passion and develop their strengths. Without them, things would be pretty boring. I honestly can’t remember my life without them in it.

Tomorrow, I will be thankful for strawberry pretzel salad…lemon pie…rolls…I’m hungry just thinking about it. These desserts may not make it through the night.

I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
