I’m normally a “wait until after Thanksgiving for anything Christmas” kind of girl. However, I need to get on my game early for our elf’s arrival! Sonny always makes his appearance around Thanksgiving. That’s only a week away!
The last two years I was flying blind. Every night, usually just after I had gotten into bed, I would realize I hadn’t moved the elf. Let’s not even talk about the number of times he didn’t move. Our lineup got boring…fast! He became the elf that ONLY sat on a shelf.
Coming up with new ideas is a chore. I would see all of the fun Pinterest ideas and creative people on Facebook posting their pictures. Sure we had a few in there. This year though, we are going all out!
I’m starting with our November lineup. It’s ready to go. I’m not sure who to credit the photos/ideas to, so I will just say “thank you all for your creative inspiration”.
November Elf on the Shelf Lineup. Goal – Keeping our elf OFF the shelf!
- 26th – Thanksgiving Day – Right now I’m thinking he is going to fly in on an underwear helium balloon. I still have helium left over in a tank I had purchased back in September. This one will get some good laughs.
- 27th – Snowflakes – Sonny will need to bring us some snow to get us in the Christmas/winter spirit given we don’t have any here.
- 28th – Shaving – The kids have a little toy shaving kit in their bathroom. It can be put to use for this one.
- 29th – Barbie doll dress up. Our Barbie’s don’t ever wear clothes, so I should have no problem finding a spare dress or two.
- 30th – Syrup binge. He’s going to need to up his sugar intake to keep this up and make it through December!
Stay tuned for our December lineup. The goal is to make sure he moves every night and never has to just sit on a shelf.
What has been your best elf trick so far?
