The weather has been beautiful! This is the perfect time of year here in Florida, before the humidity kicks in. So today we took full advantage.
We recently discovered the most adorable schoolhouse library here! Inside, each room of the house has been converted with bookshelves. The hardwood floors and character of the building is still fully intact. They have the sunroom on the side of the building set up as the kids section. It is so cute!
Wednesday’s are early release days for us at school. Melia (4) has been dying to get back to the library. Right now they are giving out “Bunny Money” for each item that is checked out. She is so excited to be collecting it. Later this month she will be able to exchange her money for prizes at their Bunny Store.
Today we made a stop there after school. Our plan was to check out a bunch of new books so she can earn more Bunny Money. She got a little derailed once we got inside. There’s a good chance she likes the toys and puzzles more than the books. She actually asked if she could check out one of the stuffed animals. No such luck.
Once back on track, she picked out 7 books for us to take home. Normally we’d take our time to work through all the books. This time we opted to knock them all out in one day!
The weather has been so perfect I thought it would be fun to take a blanket outside and have our own story-time. Since Cameron passed, our spontaneous activities and family fun has taken a pretty big hit! Lately I’ve been trying to find easy ways to bring a little bit of it back. The girls loved the low key time outside, together.
Today reinforced to me the importance of these moments. The last couple of months have been really hard on us all, though we don’t show much of it externally. Look at those smiles (and Sienna is finally sitting up really well on her own)! It was a good moment in the day.
