Halloween is a time for spooky fun! I like to find fun kid activities and sprinkle them throughout the month of October. These also work great if you are planning a Halloween party. I thought I’d share some a bit early so you can create your own fun as well.
5 Halloween Party Games
- Guess How Many – Fill a jar (or other container) with pieces of Halloween candy. Have each person guess how many are inside. The person that gets the closest guess, wins the candy! You can also have another prize versus giving away the jar of candy.
- Bobbing for Eyeballs – Decorate ping pong balls like eye balls. Fill a large bowl/pan/bucket with water. Drop the eyes in. Let the kids try to catch one with their teeth (no using their hands) same as you would if you were bobbing for apples.
- Spider Races – Buy a package of the black spider rings you see all over this time of year. You will also need straws (one for each participant), and masking tape. Use the tape to mark a start and a finish line. Then race to see who can blow their spider ring to the finish line first using only their straws.
- Decorating Cookies – The stores always carry pumpkin or ghost shaped cookies that are easy to bake up. This is a great evening activity after work for a quick treat. Or set up a decorating station and let kids decorate their own spooky cookies. See my old post: Decorating Cookies with Kids.
- Crazy Pumpkin Drawing – You will need orange balloons. Each participant will need one balloon that has been blown up and tied. Then tape it to a table or a wall. Make sure it’s easy for them to reach at face level. For this game you may want to protect your walls/tables. Give each player a marker. They can only use their mouth to hold it. Set a timer for 3 minutes. They must draw a face on their pumpkin. You can give prizes if you want for scariest or silliest.
More to come as Halloween gets closer…
