Nature Crafts

It’s a beautiful day for a craft project! My kids usually look for any reason to be inside. Even on beautiful days. So I have to get creative to get them outside without a fight. Today, outdoor nature crafts.

I let the kids raid our cabinet to gather what supplies they thought they would need. They used a box to transport everything outside. Into the box went construction paper, some pieces of cardboard (the back side of the paper package), glue, crayons, scissors, and googly eyes.

Then came the fun part. Go exploring! They had free reign of our yard. I told them to go find anything they could to create a cool picture. Seeds. Pebbles. Sticks. Weeds. Flowers. Nothing was off limits! So off they went collecting.

They came back with palm tree fronds, fuzzy tall weeds, yellow flowers, butterfly wings (they were already dead in a spider web), sticks, seeds, and leaves. They added some crayon work, and they were done.

Masterpieces.
