This week the kids are out of school for Thanksgiving break. So this morning, we turned my kitchen table into craft central! They went to work making turkeys.
Both of my kids love to paint. If I get out the paint, it will easily fill an hour or more of time. They started out with some simple hand print turkeys. Add in some paper plates, toilet paper rolls, and googly eyes…more turkeys.
Hand Print Turkeys Craft
Simply paint the bottom of their hand. You can use one color, or paint different parts of their hand different colors. Then make a hand print (fingers spread apart). Instant turkey. You can add googly eyes, paint legs, or any other accessories you want to add.
Toilet Paper Roll Turkey Craft
Cut a paper plate in half. These are the feathers. Paint them or accessorize them any way you like. Use a toilet paper roll for the body. Again, paint it or accessorize any way you like. Then glue the body onto the feathers. I’ve got a flock of them standing on my table right now.
I think these will be our table centerpieces for Thanksgiving. Not quite Martha Stewart, but aren’t original creations so much better?
