Having a picky eater is frustrating! Often no matter what I do or what I try, the food is refused. Sometimes right away. Sometimes after the first couple of bites. Regardless, it can drive a Mom batty.
I’ve talked about Sienna’s sensory issues before. She is all about the texture! The reason I know she’s my child is her fondness for carbs (i.e. crackers, bread, french fries). Fruits, veggies, pasta, and anything remotely healthy is deemed unacceptable. Not quite the healthy path we’d like her to be on. Yet, there is this constant battle between eating healthy and just getting her to eat actual food.
I’m always on the hunt for new snacks she will eat. A few days ago we were “cruising” at Publix (we can’t shop without these carts). I like to start in the baby food aisle for picky eater inspiration. To be honest, there aren’t always a lot of things there she will eat (besides just baby food). This time, we picked up Gerber’s newest snack, Lil’ Beanies. I think we found a win for both of us!
Gerber’s latest baked snack, Lil’ Beanies, is made from navy beans. It packs a healthy punch of protein and fiber. Plus, it is non-GMO, has no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. So much better than a lot of the stuff she has been eating. You can get both original and white cheddar & broccoli flavor.
Grocery shopping trips with kids in tow are never dull! To keep Sienna entertained, Melia played keep away with the snacks. Sienna knew that can belonged to her. She wanted it! In the end she won and got to drive it to the check out. Bonus: they double as entertainment and don’t crumble with lots of shaking.
We bought both flavors. Believe it or not, we all tried them and gave our stamp of approval. The flavor is great. They are easy to pack up and take on the go. This decreases the chances that a meal is made entirely of french fries. I love when healthy snacks are disguised as junk food.
Sienna loved them so much that even after her snack she grabbed for the can and spilled them all over the table. I had only turned my back for a second. She proceeded to clean them up by eating more.
Grab your own can of Gerber Lil’ Beanies and get $.75 cents off! We’ve already got them on our grocery list to restock. #gerberwinwin
